The World Innovation Days
Poznan, 28th September - 2nd October 2009
The aim of the event is to promote innovative initiatives and to bulid the innovation culture in the society.
After huge success of previous two editions, we are glad to continue our action this Year 2009 for benefit of "Creativity and Innovation". This year's World Innovation Days will take place Sept. 28th - Oct 2nd 2009 (3rd edition) in the Wielkopolska Region, Poland.
The aim of the event is dissemination of innovation and rising the public awareness on innovation policy and presenting best practices from the most innovative regions and countries. Participants will exchange ideas on B&R and technology transfer. The integral part of the event are conferences, exhibitions with contribution of experts from all over the world. WID topics includes: R&D, clusters, financial instruments (JEREMIE, JESSICA), design, leadership in the local development, educational event "Open Doors" at innovative for pupils, international exhibition design, artistic performance, presentation of cities and regions, business meetings. The WID will undoubtedly contribute to increase the public awareness of the importance of innovative approach in economy development.

Inauguration of the World Innovation Days
Conference Topic: Research and development
Issues for discussion: Innovation - economic development, Internationalization of clusters in the Era of Globalization
Inauguration of the World Innovation Days is going to be the main part of the event, where numerous celebrated guests will gather. The aim of the event is the dissemination of innovations and rising the awareness about innovation policy implemented by Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region and moreover popularization the solutions of the most innovative regions and countries. There will be possibility to visit free vernissage through the hole week.
The participants of the Inauguration Ceremony will be: Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region, Marshal of Chamber of Deputies, The representative of Ministry of Economy, European Commission, Workgroup of Marshals for Innovations, representatives of national and regional authorities, invited guests and target group of the programme (Business Support Institutions, local authorities, academic institutions, R&D and other organisations involved in creating Regional Innovative Strategies)

Design Day
Seminar Focus: Creating innovation through design
Issues for discussion: Sustainable design, design in public space
The conference during the Design Day will consist of two parts. The target group of the first one, where the issues of Design in the public space and Sustainable design are going to be discussed, will be local and regional authorities. The second part will deal with the city architecture, the examples of existing projects showing new dimension of design in the public space. Among the whole group of speakers you will find world-famous experts in the field of design development in public space and sustainable design.

Financial Instruments Day
Issues for discussion: Presentation of programs: JEREMIE, JESSICA, JASMINE; The role of Business Support Institutions in the innovation financing, The company and innovation: micro companies and SMEs, large companies, B & R - the commercialization of research.
The main idea of that Day is to present different concepts of both regional and national public systems of supporting SME in gaining financial support. The event provides opportunity to learn about modern instruments, which are in use not only in Poland but also regions and countries of EU. The instruments and tools, which could be found useful for financing SME sector based on innovations will be presented.

Cluster Initiatives Day
Seminar: Effective cluster initiatives as a factor of economic development
The aim of the seminar is to introduce different national and foreign concepts in field of building and managing effective cluster initiatives. Audience will have the opportunity to learn about different cluster solutions in the context of the economic development of the regions and the idea of internationalization the initiatives aiming to construct international cooperation networks.

Completion of the World Innovation Days
Teleconference: Leadership in the local development
Issues for discussion: Metropolis - the role of leader
The conference will be available to watch live in the four other cities of the region, where discussions will be led. We are going to hold discussions between participants of all the meetings as well. The topic of the conference "The role of leader in region development" will be presented in the context of enhancing the competitive position of the region.
